Remembrance Day is one of the most important days on our commemorative calendar. In Australia we observe one minute's silence at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to mark the anniversary of the Armistice of 1918 that ended the fighting in World War I. It has evolved to be a time to honour all personnel who died or suffered in the service of Australia.
